COPPER ROOT - COPPER ROOT v2 The .wav files are mastered for CD quality audio. The .mp3 files are just for listening directly or using in situations where a .wav file cannot be used. The .wav files should work fine for online distribution (Spotify, YouTube, and others), but if you guys need a specifically mastered version, let me know. Just give me the specs. To go into a bit more detail, the .wav files are mastered at about -9 LUFS. When uploaded to Spotify or other online locations, those services should automatically normalize or lower the volume to -14 LUFS. The significant changes made: -Added a bit more dead space at beginning of some tracks to prevent any clipped intros on certain devices or players -Gain staged all tracks before any processing -Remixed levels all tracks from ground up -Quantized drums and bass on most tracks -Used new drum samples when appropriate for enhancing snare, kick, and tom sounds -Aligned vocal tracks where needed -Used very slight automatic pitch correction on vocals, mandolin, and acoustic -Used manual pitch correction on a few spots on vocals, just to fix a few notes -Worked with different stereo imaging and panning across the tracks, especially acoustic guitars -Used some new effects such as reverbs, compressions, limiters, and others on various tracks -Added 1930's record player effect on "Same Ole", at beginning and end only -Added 1930's type EQ on Kasey's outro vocals and did some left/right panning to give it a "popping in and out from different areas" effect. -Looped vocal sample at end of "Want Thangs" -Remastered all songs with new effects and techniques, but much less EQ processing on the master *Basically, I started from the recordings and worked my way up again. I also allowed more of the tracks to sit more naturally on the EQ spectrum, only notching where absolutley necessary and doing much less EQ processing on the master track. Everything just sort of breaths a lot better, even with more compression on the individual tracks.
